Whilst some of you might find this surprising, i have actually been
lurking
for a week now (since returning from blighty) cos i havnt had anything to
add
to the fray...........especially the musical thread since i actually SAW
Jimi Hendrix
when he was a warm-up act , am acutely hard of hearing from sitting too
close to bass players and have purchased an 8-track player new (put it in
a
71 BGT - in 73!)
Anyway, this past weekend allowed me to get more into things since it was

sunny and 60 degrees in CT- i took all three cars out for a 15-20 mile
run
then washed and dried the 72 and the GT - then i finally decided the time
has
come to commence the bodywork on the 69 - stripped off the chrome side
trim
drilled out the steel clips and sanded/primed the entire exposed part-
i was pleasantly surprised tha there wasnt much rust under the trim, even
around the clips and the original BRG really is a pretty colour(!) i
found a patch
of bondo near one of the tail lights which is likely masking a small
dent.
There is no appreciable rust anywhere on the car (god you Arizona people
have
it easy!)
Early days yet but the idea is to have this one refinished by august, -
last year
in maine it was the tattiest car by far, this year it will fit much
better!
