Gregg,

I've ordered quite a few parts from Scarborough Faire for my MGA
restoration. I find that their part quality is average, but their prices
(if you use published prices) are very good deals. Especially if you use
their trade price.

I've also used them for purchasing used parts. Yes, I will use used
parts to replace parts that were missing from my car. That is no worse
than restoring the parts already on the car. Most of the parts they list
will also be available used if you ask.

I have returned parts that I have bought from them, many months after
the purchase. Yes, they ask to have the original part returned first but
I have had them ship me (and bill me) the replacement part. When I send
the parts back, I get a credit, either on future orders or to the Visa
card if over some set dollar amount.

Definitely the woman answering the phone, I think her name is Celia,
knows her stuff. She will talk your ear off with her stories. Some parts
they have, nobody else has and vice versa. It's a crap shoot.

I now find that a better alternative is to use one of the Moss
distributors on the Internet. I use George Merryweather and have had
excellent results. 25% off Moss pricing and free shipping to my door!
Even better deals on sale items. Orders placed to him on Monday are
forwarded to Moss on Tuesday and sometimes I have the parts on Friday or
Saturday. Not great for something in dire need but pretty good for a
long restoration. (The usual disclaimer about financial interest applies
here)

I think that I will still use S/F for the carpet sets. I've got samples
of the carpet and like it better than Moss.
