You hit the nail right square on the head.  I agree here wholeheartedly.

This is part of reason I think it's quite acceptable to put a new Lucas 
alternator

on my car.  Despite the fact it may break on me 20 years from now, and the $175 
expense

it's still much cheaper than some of the ridiculous parts prices and labor 
charges for some of the these new cars.   

Then I hear about people saying they want to put a cheaper, albeit, maybe 
better electronic fuel pump on their car simply because a new pump or rebuild 
kit is too expensive.  Comom!


btw, I'm going against all my rants about mostly original MGs now

since I've decided to slap a rover/buick V8 into my '78 B.  Maybe then the 
rubber bumper B will approach the godly status on my '70 CHROME-BUMPERED B.  :)


Anybody got a good rover or buick for sale, or know where I can get a good one.?


Stay tuned as I will post as much info as possible about my transformation.  I 
know many listers here are interested in this project.  I expect it will cost 
me $2000 for everything.
