Now I've accomplished my priority missions for the weekend, but on =
reflection think I'm becoming a DNO (Dreaded New Owner) 8-0
Some of you may feel disgusted, but these two jobs were quickly and =
successfully accomplished in the name of Safety! I figured this might =
provide a chuckle for those who aren't shaking their heads and cursing.
I secured the battery in the trunk (as someone put it - my arc welder =
over my bomb) with a universal plastic tray and bracket I bought at Auto =
Zone for 7 bucks. As I was thinking about how to do this without, a) =
drilling a hole in the trunk floor, right above the gas tank, not a good =
idea AT ALL, and b) making it temporary, so someday I can put the =
battery in its rightful place, I had a brainstorm. VELCRO!!!=20
I superglued the "loop" sided velcro to the floor, so it can be used =
for, say, a tool kit when the battery goes back to its rightful place. =
It's actually very secure.
I jumpered the horn wires from the missing Low Note horn over to the =
High Note horn, and, Taa-Daa! a working, although somewhat wimpy, =
strange sounding horn!
Honest folks, these are temporary fixes for safety's sake only...I'm =
just proud they worked! Now ALL the electricals SAFELY work on my B!
Now to work on the chrome tomorrow.
