 Yes, the hole belongs there. Air flowing through the main hole, the one
you throttle by screwing the round plug in and out, causes the marker in
the tube to float on a column of air.  Try turning the adjustment on the
plug/restrictor in and out 1/2 turn at a time to get an idea of how it
works.>

   Current opinion is that you can't get the bright blue that the
Colortune pictures show if you are burning USA fuel these days.  Hal
Kramer, at the GOF last summer, gave a talk in which he mentioned this
problem, then he wrote it up for the NE T Register's magazine, TSO.  He
said that about the best you will get is a yellow, flecked with blue. He
was talking about TDs, running on New England gas, so YMMV. It's still a
good tool, but not as easy to use as the pictures might indicate.
