Hi to all,

Yes, I know we have sort of been here before, but I think this is a
little different. Got a '71 MGB, Autumn Leaf interior. The upholstery
material seems to be good, just the stitching on the driver's seat has
split in one place (about five to six inches worth, on the seat, not the
back rest). My question is, what is the best way to go about repairing
this.

Should I (and there are probably a million possibilities):

1. Take the old material off, restitch, and replace (assuming taking
the old upholstery off does not destroy it so it can't be reinstalled).

2. Get a new upholstery set. I would like original 1971 Autumn Leaf
design, and any recommendations on a good source would be appreciated.

3. Or.... And I will stop here. You people know all the combinations
and permutations that this questions begs. (new foam, leather, etc,
etc.)

Any advise greatly appreciated. I guess I should add that the goal is
something that will reasonably last, and still be sort of "original" for
a 1971 Autumn Leaf interior.

Thanks,

"Jay"
