 HMMM, I don't think the oil has any thing to do with it
 I'm running 20W-50 Castrol and I  too,  will drop about 500 RPM when
shifting into OD.
  Of course, I've never been able to get the car to do 100MPH at only
5000 RPM, either 
Never mind at 3000!!!!
  Lets see, if I can get 100 mph at 3000 rpm, then at the redline, I
should be doing somewhere around 198 (give or take the odd mph)......
