I had a great Saturday as well! 150 miles just driving around the
beautiful Ky farm roads for no reason other than enjoying life.
   1) My tach problem is "solved". As a last act, which should have been
first, I rapped a knuckle on the glass, like I've seen pilots do in the
movies. Guess what? You guessed it. Seems the needle is just becoming
obstinate. Hmmph, I think this may be an old marketing ploy to make us
really FEEL like old WW2 pilots!
    2) Checked my compression again at the craft shop. Mechanic on duty
said, "Let me give you one that I know works" (Grrrrrrr.....now that I'm
becoming a familiar face, you scoundrel!) You guessed it, I had readings of
135-140 on all but the #2, which reads 117!!!
So, maybe I can live with the shabby #2 exhaust valve for a while longer
and start working on other items like the suspension, and even cosmetics!
Get out and tear up those country roads, folks! You're MG will thank you for
it, mine did.
