I was driving home from work today and my '75 MGB did something odd....
I was driving up a steep hill in third gear at about 60mph, the car made
kind of a pop noise (small backfire), felt like it lost power, but continued
to run fine. I then noticed that none of the gauges worked (except speedo
(no duh) and the oil pressure gauge (is it mechanical). Further
investigation revealed that the turn signals don't work, nor do the
windshield wipers. The headlights (and parking) lights work as well as the
dome light. Lately I've noticed noise on the radio at higher RPM, so I was
thinking of replacing the spark plug wires, but the car seems to run fine
even at higher RPMs.
Any ideas?
