HVLP vs. Conventional Spray

To Andy Ramm, and all others:

I have some respray work to complete, as I am being forced to replace the
drivers door on my B.  The car was shot professionally a little more than a
year ago, with acrylic enamel.

Instead of paying to have this done again, I am considering buying a
compressor (want one anyway) and a paint gun, and DIY'ing it.

Interested on experiences of listmembers dealing with HVLP vs. conventional
systems.
