Bill,
If I were a guessing person, and I am, I would say you just went
from resistive core noise suppression ignition wires to solid core
copper wires. The radio shack suppression kit works pretty good on
generator/alternator noise, but isn't much on ignition ( it's basically an
inline inductor or choke, and a filter capacitor to ground ). See if you
can't find some noise suppression wires to cure your problem.
