Hey gang,
Noticed my TD was down on power coming home from our club's last event.
Did a compression check and found, front to back, #165,130,125,130.
(This head by the way has 1/8 metal shaved from it, hence the higher
numbers when normal.) Probably some recession going on in the head, but
perhaps some cam wear, too. What's a sure fire check on cam wear? Just
checking the rockers as they're adjusted to see how high they move? Must
be a more positive way to check.
That coupled with a severe pull to the left up front signals an
adjustment or contamination on the right front wheel, correct? This
after only 32 years and 60,000 + miles. What's happened to the
reliability in these cars? :>)
Hope I can get the power back without an engine rebuild as I'd rather
find a TF 1500 block to rebuild for her.
Any thoughts on what to do?

Cheers,
Dave Houser
