Check to make sure that the points aren't grounded to the dizzy
body ... IOW, that you replaced the insulator(s) in the correct
order.

I'm not sure when they added the external ballast resistror to
the 'B' ... perhaps one of the 'B' aficionados will step-up and
let ya know if your '74 B has one.
