Larry,
I'm also going to paint my MGA BRG or some such derivitive there-of.
I've been down to the auto paint shop and looked thru their books but
they don't go back far enough for the XK120-150's. Also looked at the
other british car deep greens. For what it's worth, each car mfgr has
different formulas for BRG with each being a bit different than the
next. Furthermore the samples in the books are many years old and may
not match the formula due to ageing of the sample.

For me, I've too have found that the BRG's are a bit too dark for my
tastes. I kind of like the Tri**ph Emerald Green. It's a bit lighter but
not too much. These were samples of the Dupont colors. The supplier
suggested that I use the PPG paint. Probably an Acrylic Lacquer. He's
finding out about the primers and metal prep for use with the aluminum
body panels. After looking at the PPG samples of generic solid greens, I
have settled on their #46176. It's very similar to the Tri**ph color.
When I asked him if he could identify what car used that shade, he
looked it up and said it's a F*rd fleet color. No listing of the year.
I guess I'll have to tell everyone it's British Racing Green. Who could
argue against it?

I've still got a lot of body work to do before I'm ready to paint, but I
needed to decide on colors and paint type so I could use the right
primer as I do the work.

Let me know your results on color choice. We could compare progress.
