Subject: MGA - More power to it

An MGA is up for sale locally. It has no engine nor gear box.
I can't recall of anyone putting in a v-8 in one of these cars. Has it =
been done? Can it be done without super problems? Any
recommendations.>>

Yes - if you must indulge your knuckle dragging tendencies, for the love of
Abingdon apply them to something a bit more mundane like an MGB. There are
lots of ropy ones around that wouldn't be much of a loss (leaving the good
ones to people that enjoy them). There are few enough good MGAs about, and the
one you are talking about sounds as if it just needs a heart transplant from
tehsaid ropy MGB.
It is also much easier to do a conversion on the B, as you don't have the
forward braces from the firewall to the front suspension to deal with. They
get in the way of just about any V8 exhaust and before you ask, _NO_ you can't
just cut them out.
