I did this to reduce tyre-rub on the rear arches following a conversion from 
Rostyles to wires - it was successful.  While I was at it I changed the front 
springs as well.  A beneficial side-effect was markedly less roll and dive.  
A drawback is the rear breaks away a little sooner on wet bends, another is a 
slightly harder ride.
