Having just re-read both Emails, it is not clear to which gasket you
refer to having already changed! There are two gaskets, one under the
oil pump itself, and the other a much larger one, between the backplate
and the cylinder block. The cylinder block gasket should be in good
condition if undisturbed, but if poorly fitted will allow oil to find
its way out between the sump and backplate area, but ONLY if the oil
pump gasket itself is leaking.

Ensure the drain hole under the oil pump cover is clear. The gasket on
the pump itself has to withstand VERY HIGH pressures, it is before the
pressure relief valve remember. Cold oil can get well into the upper
90psi area....normal running should be 75 psi.

The oil pump itself can be taken appart, ( two screws,) and surfaces
inside here must be true, worthy of lapping in on a bit of plate-glass
to ENSURE a good fit between the mating faces. Again, use sealant
sparingly. I have never known a pump to leak from its two halves, but it
might.

Good luck.

Neil.
