MGA Tonneau Questions

Can anyone tell me whether a tonneau was standard equipment, or was it a
option.  Also was ther ever a factory tonneau that used the same mounting
studs as the convertable top did.  I'd like to install a tonneau, but don't
want to drill holes for extra studs, and all that seem to be available are
tonneaus that use studs mounted on or next to the rear cockpit rail.
