John,

Not only will it depend on your state and possible county laws, but it will
also depend on your ability to adjust the carb for the best exhaust output.
There have been many folks on this list that have had their vehicles go
through emissions with the car completly desmogged some with webber carbs
added.  I would sugggest looking around for some other MG owners and see
what they have done...  They may also have a favorite inspection station to
go to..
