Timing,Carbs,SU's vs DGV

Paul : I had this problem with my GT also. I installed a mild Piper cam
raised the compression and ported the carbs, it ran just as you described.
I covered up the problem by using MME needles and some carb springs out of
a AH. Ran it for awhile and decided having a hole through the ozone,following
me wasn't to cool. Removed the cold air box, changed the carb springs to
AUC 1167 yellow,#6 needles and it runs great !
