John, it was a long - but interesting - story. Too long to post here.
Actually, I wrote an article about XPAG twin-cams (there were at least four
variants done by private individuals) for Moss Motoring back when I was the
editor of that publication around 1984. Possibly Ken Smith at Moss could
research the archives and dig a copy out; I no longer have one.

If I receive more than a couple of other "Yes" responses to indicate
sufficient interest, I'll take a rainy weekend sometime soon and write the
history of my involvement with the "PUMA" twin-cam and post it on my
web-site.
