At the club meeting last night, I told one of the long-time members and an
avowed "purist" that I was going to renew my rear suspension and was
probably going to convert the rear shocks to tubes. ONLY because one of my
levers is leaking pretty bad. I'm going to do the "Colt" conversion.
I'm privileged to be a member of an old club (Louisville British Sports Car
Club) with many long-time LBC enthusiasts. Bill's reaction was visible...he
hates the idea. Of course, he has a Healey that wins a trophy every show and
is worth around 20K at least, and other cars...
I had to convince him that the conversion is reversable, and I wouldn't sell
the Armstrongs but will hang onto them until such time as I send them to
Apple hydraulics.
Sheesh!
