A bloody cold New years day here in New England but the sun was shining
and the roads were dry so i took the GT for a bit of a run. Its only been
two weeks since i used it but it complained the whole way -
It wouldnt run consistently at idle without 1/4-1/3 choke, there is a
definite loss of power and acceleration, feels stiff and laboured - then
theres the copious blueish gray smoke at pull away -
Not sure where to look first, it shouldnt be timing or carb related,
these were tweaked a few months ago and havnt wavered up until now (and
yes the dashpots are full)
No outward head gasket warnings (but then the 69 didnt give me any in
november!!)
Im concerned it may be a camshaft problem - theres close to 100,000 on
this engine but then i wouldnt expect the deterioration to be this sudden
- any thoughts before i lose a days work on the 69 tomorrow putting this
right!!!
