Hi,

time to replace the plugs in my '69 MGB. I called a couple of places today
and they said 'Resistor or non-resistor plugs?'. Um, how can I find out
which are suitable? The ones I have in mind are the NGK BP6ES (stock code
7333), which are non-resistive, but only because this is pencilled into the
handbook the DPO gave me (so needs verification). Actually Peter Burgess
recommends this part too, and NGK recommend it on their website, but they
also list a BPR6ES, which has a resistor (this from
http://ngksparkplugs.com). Also Burgess recommends a gap of 0.022", but NGK
recommend 0.025". Haynes recommends some nominal range rather than a
specific measure. I am running Allison electronic ignition, but the car is
running v. rough, so the plugs are the next troubleshooting stop.

Resistor or no, and what gap please?

Andy
