What I did on my last one was to drill two small holes into the plastic on
oposite sides of the bore, then thread in two self tapping screws. Chuck the
MC in a vice, grag the screw heads with vice grips and jerk the offending part
out.
Now the circlip in the bottom of the bore underneath it is another matter all
together.....
