It's kinda the difference between a BMW 1600 and a VW 1600.
Different design, manufacturer, and company.
The MGA 1500 - MGB 1800 family was BMC
The Triumph 1147 -1500 family was Standard Triumph
The Triumph 1500 engine was installed in the MG Midget in 75 to meet smog
requirements. I can not think of any interchangable components.
