Some of you, like many others, may have experiencing rear spring sagging
problems with your mgb-c. Even after purchasing a new pair, you discover
that your B still sags (in most cases on the driver side)!!

What to do?

Well, you have to understand the problem in the first place. There are two
parts to it:

1. The metallic aftermarket rear mgb-c springs are of debatable quality and
yes, like all metallic elliptics, they sag with time.

2. Here's a more curious phenomenon : the body shell kind of sags too with
time! More so with 200 pounders single mgb-c drivers (most are males,
aren't they?)...

Of course, you can handle that by dating a mg submissive 200 pounder
passenger women...

OK You can do nothing about the shell sagging (apart from buying a new
shell). Well almost nothing, more on that on a next post. And not all mg
drivers love plumpers... (I do)

So, here's what I discovered.

Firts you have to find a modern spring design that DOES NOT sag with time.

I found one, NO KIDDING. Not only that but the spring offers the following
advantages:

- Reduced unsprung weight ( 15 lbs each side)
- Smoother ride
- More rapid response to induced or released stress: better compliance to
the road surface
- No interleaf friction
- Superior fatigue strenght
- Reduced rear bump steer
- Entirely corrosion resistant
- No lateral reset due to torque steer
- Superiror handing

And where do you find that beauty Mr Knows All?

At British Automotive. It is my experience that they are the BEST mg parts
developpers in the world. To my knowledge, they are the only company
developping extremely high quality unique components for the mgb. And NO,
they don't sell racing parts. They sell STREET performance parts you won't
find anywhere else like Panhard rods (would you believe this?).

I felt MANY did not know this solution to spring sagging. I wanted to pass
on that information to the list.

The springs sell for 360$ a pair if my memory is good. They are of
composite material. It is an extremely high tech thing, very robust, and
does not harm the original look of your mgb-c.

So every mg lover SHOULD know about this place: you can find it on the web.
Just type: mgbmga.com

As I stated in the previous post, I HAVE NO INTEREST IN THIS COMPANY. I am
a French Canadian living in Quebec somewhat fed up with old debates that
always apply old weary solutions. That's why I decided to post some
articles that try to give a new perspective to what I consider vintage
solutions or minding. Hence the Final word serie idea.

Hope I didn't make any english mistakes, I'm French...

A big hello to my fellow americans...
