The bushing is the stop, The end of the housing goes into it. It looks
brasin color 1" x 1" square block with stud that goes through tunnel wall.
Thos was on a 73 BGT, Don't know if there was or is a difference.
I changed my cable as it would release really slowly. Had to drive and
Handle would slowly go down. Got it out and it was old grease caked up in
the housing, Cable was still good, Cleaned out the grease and like new.
OK now its an extra. Carl E.
