It sounds exactly like Milou, when I found her. She had sat for 19 years
in a garage in Altadena. The dust was thick, the fenders scraped and
dented, and the leather was dried out and dead. She only had 18,000 miles
on the odometer, which I believe was accurate from the mechanics. I
replaced all the rubber, rebuilt all the hydraulics and fuel system,
cleaned out the cooling system, replaced the water pump, tires, etc.
I ended up spending $750 to get her going again, then $350 for new leather.
I paid $4,000 in 1990, and I don't regret it. I think it was fair.
Note that all the plastic (top, etc.) was in excellent condition.
The value of your find will depend upon how much you need to put into
the mechanics. How many miles?
I'd say $2,000 sounds good.... ...assuming she'll run.
