I am currently tearing down the original block in my 70 B in order to
combine it with a 2.0 liter block I purchased from a list member. The new
block came with a reground crank, 2.0 liter pistons, 4 rods, and an oil
pump. However it did not include the bearing caps for the crank - that is
the reason for stripping the original (seem to be the same configuration as
the new block). The block looks to have been freshly bored but nothing
further.

My plan, take the block to a local mg machine shop. Wanting them to:

1 inspect and continue with cleaning and machining the block (replace
freeze plugs, line bore (with original bearing caps on new block), etc...)
2 press new pistons on to rods
3 inspect new reground crank
4 determine size of bearings

Should I have them balance the crank, pistons, flywheel, other? What else
should I be thinking about? (Background on myself, I have rebuilt a 2.2
liter chrysler engine and replaced head gaskets on a couple different cars)
Anything specific to the B I should remember in this process? Not in a
hurry to get this thing back together, I want to make sure I do it right.
