Does it stop as if the needle is hitting something? Like an obstruction
somewhere in the works? Or does it bounce around a little like that is
all the signal it is getting? If it is the latter, it might very
well be a problem with your ignition system. How does your car run
at higher rpm?
FWIW, I put in the Petronix electronic ignition conversion and loved it.
