II've had an 11 row oil cooler on my 71 for almost 15 years. I run ordinary
10W30 without any additives year round in North Carolina and drive the car
regularly, city and highway. No bad experience, has never run hot, and it
builds oil pressure very quickly from cold start.

I'm not a gear head and use a great mechanic to keep the car maintained.
But, my guress is that the oil you are using may be too heavy, oil pump may
be faulty, or the lines or engine is all crapped up with the mysterious gooey
crap that is left from motor honey type additives.
