After reading numerous short sighted posts about the Miata on this list,
finally one that hits the nail on the head. I've got a 1990 Miata that I've
owned since new. I've also got an MGA, Austin Healey 3000 BT7, Morgan Plus
4, and Bugeye Sprite. I've been into LBC's for as long as I can remember and
have driven one or another for the past 37 years (The MGA has been in the
family since new.) They're all fun and each has its own character, but the
Miata is the best overall. Very responsive 1.6 liter four cylinder engine,
very balanced handling, easy up/down top, air conditioning when you want it
and decent heat when that's needed (I use both with the top down, depending
upon the weather), reliable, dependable, yada, yada, yada. Much as I love my
LBC's, it's the Miata that I drive regularly and get the most overall
pleasure from. If Britain's car industry hadn't gone down the tubes, the
current day LBC's would likely be very much like the Miata.
