Piston & Rod change?????

I'm I missing something??  If you have the head off, why punish yourself??  
Loosen & remove the rod cap.,then cover the rod  studs with some vac hose and 
push the assembly up to the top of the bore. Have someone watch from below to 
check the alignment of the rod going back in the bore & resecure the rod cap. 
  Use a standard ring compressor from the top.
