Apparently it's off the same family tree (Austin C series) but not
identical. According to Clausager the MGC (29G) has a 7-bearing camshaft
(as in the Australian "Blue Streak" 2.4 L 6), with the bore and stroke of
the AH 3000 engine (which had 4 bearings). Despite that, it is somehow 2
inches shorter. Doubtless there are many practical differences, as well.
Seeing as there were only 9000-some built, and only 10,000 of the closely
related Austin 29AA engine, Paul could be looking for quite a while.
