A good reference to the differences between the two engines is to be found
in 'TheMighty MG"s' book , [usual disclaimers of no interest, etc.]
by, Graham Robson ISBN 0-7153-8226-8.
On page 88 and 89 there are photos of the two engines showing the right side
[from the, in car, drivers perspective] almost every detail of the MGC
engine is different, from the Healey engine The 2,912cc capacity seems to be
the only similarity. YMMV
