MG's bad in the rain

As others have said MG's are generally not bad in the rain. While most
don't have the advantage of air conditioning to dehumidify the interior air,
they can be equipped to deal well with inclement weather.

In 9 years of driving MGB's on a daily basis, I have done the following:

Start with Rain-X on the windshield. Keep your wiper blades in good
condition. Lubricate the wiper linkage. If necessary, replace the wiper
motor. J.C.Whitney and others sell kits to make your wipers work
intermittently. That helps a lot.

As for the interior humidity, a little air flow from a slightly opened vent
window, full blast on the defroster and a good Turkish towel are all you
need.

As for handling, if your tires aren't good in the rain, is it because they
are too worn, or are dry weather only tires. Replace them with tires with
better rain characteristics. Good tires are a very critical link to your
safety, and to that of others on the roads you share.

Standing water can cause brakes to delay in activating. I've gone to
cross-drilled disks and grooved pads. That helps a lot too. And, when it's
raining real hard, it helps to apply the brakes every now and then to dry
them. No need to press real hard, just enough to get some braking action.
And, make sure your brake pads and shoes are in good condition.

As for driving in the snow, as someone mentioned, B's are great. My old '80
B bypassed 7 - 4WD's in the winter of '93/'94. Good tires & a low center of
gravity will beat low traction truck tires on a vehicle with a foot higher
CoG every time, on slippery roads. Only place 4WD has the advantage over
the B is in deep snow or sand.
