I have never been able to obtain a smooth idle on my 77B. No problems with
road operation to 5,300 RPM, never had it higher. Two things I suspect: 1.
Leaking carb.
shafts (HIF4's) 2. Leaking manifold gasket. According to info. from this
list the manifold gasket is on backwards, metal face to manifold. When
either carb's piston is lifted during setup the engine slows almost to a
stall and remains there until the piston is released. The miss is irregular
and the tail pipe sooty.
Any advice is welcome
