I have two ideas on this. The first is that no part EVER lasts as long
as the original part. Even if you genuine OEM parts they just don't last
as long. Second is the driving conditions make a world of difference. One
of my cars would go though a sent of lifetime Raybestos front pads every
12k miles. I would change them about every 11 months. The reason was I
was driving Rt. 18 in NJ. 0 to 60 back down to 0 in the space less then
one traffic light. When I switched to all lonely back roads the pads went
25K miles before the car blew an oil seal and ate a bearing. Just my 2
cents, but the original parts always last the longest.
