Folks,
Coming off a high after seeing Carlisle capitulate on changing our date
in May, I wonder if there are any of you who have found a modern day A/C
system for our MGBs and installed it.
Don't hold this against me but I visited with one of the Kit Car folks
over the Carlisle weekend enquiring about what Systems they use in their
"cars". One fellow was very helpful and I'm getting info from him
regarding his system. Will share once I get it.
However, it seems to me that someone has gone here before me. I know Art
Ziesk in Texas has but I understand here is no longer doing MG systems.
I have communicated with him and he was very helpful. His A/C installed
MGA coupe was a knockout! Ran it with a B engine. Small and compact, his
system was great. Should have bit the bullet then.
After holding an original Coolaire system in my hands at Carlisle,
something I had been looking for years to find, I passed on it. I
decided that the compressor alone was so huge and heavy a cluge and the
acorns inside and dirty bits and pieces that would have to be restored
after I bought this unit, forced me to find something modern, including
the environmentally safer charging gas.
So, anyone else going in this direction?
Cheers,
Dave Houser
