Jim Stuart is correct...
The MGC had the following rear axle ratios available:
3.07:1 (Standard 4 speed in early cars)
3.307:1 (automatic transmission and some O/D cars)
3.7:1 (Later cars with O/D)
The 3.7:1 rear was available in later cars (#4236 Tourer and #4266 GT)

I am not aware of a 3.6 rear for the MGC. I have done some research in
this area in the past, but would not consider myself an authority, so I
am ready to be corrected.
