Discussing paint is almost like discussing religion or politics. Everyone has
their opinion and they don't want to be confused with the facts.

In this area(Kansas City, MO), the major competitors are Dupont & PPG. Not
too much Sikkens. They are all good systems. The criteria here is more as to
what is available and which one your painter or if you are doing your own
painting, your dealer is most familiar with. Next, don't mix systems. The
products are all engineered to work together. There are exceptions - I know a
Dupont painter who like to use PPG epoxy primer.

Which system to use is more a matter of what you expect from your paint job.
If you want to be as original as possible you would use lacquer. If it is
available in your area. Acrylic enamel - such as Dupont Centari is available,
but a better choice would be a two stage base coat clear coat system for ease
of application and durability.
