Dave: The faces are interchangeable going way back to the TD and probably
the TF. I recently encountered a similiar problem with gauges for my 1958
MGA and 1964 MGB. The gauges in those cars were Jaeger which are no longer
available. I learned that Smiths gauges are identical behind the face so
simply used some excellent Smiths gauges that I purchased very reasonably at
Carlisle. I carefully removed the dials, pulling them off slowly, then the
face. You then simply place the face on the new gauge. A local Jaguar
restoration shop taught me the trick. They do it all the time since Jaeger
gauges are nla. I even used a much newer Smiths gauge in my TD by placing
the older, greenish hued TD face on the newer Smiths gauge and it fit and
worked perfectly.
