The amount of 'stiction' is relative, of course, but I freed mine by keeping
the centre hole of the shaft topped up with Plus-Gas (North Americans speak
of PB Blaster, much the same thing I assume), clamping the bottom part in a
vice between wooden blocks and wiggling the top part back and fore.
