OK, I decided to go ahead and buy the new gas tank since VB had it on sale till
the end of the month. No one had one at the Chicagoland MG Club swap meet
anyway. Besides I spent too much money there as it was. Yes, it was all worth
it and no regrets.
To get back to the subject at hand, the new gas tank came with a coat of black
paint on it that I wouldn't even dignify by calling it primer. Looks like the
stuff that my VB floor pans had on them. Someone told me that you should take a
rag with solvent and wipe the black "paint" off and paint it from there. What
is the recommendation? What should I paint a new gas tank with?
