The easiest solution for a worn distributor shaft is to install a
Pertronix (magnetic sensor) or Crane (optical sensor) electronic
ignition system.  These are not affected by a bit of shaft wobble as are
points.  If you are concerned about the mechanical advance, take in into
a performance shop for testing. 

And, you will never need to adjust points again!
