I'm in the middle off the swap as I type. I had to wash the oil off my hands
to send this email.
It looks like the 3-main 1800 pilot bushing is the same as the 5 main 1800 (
I have carcasses of
both motors as well as a couple of Metropolitian ones). I think all the pilot
bushing for the MGB
were the same from 62 thru 80. So I guess
I either have to put a coarse spline input shaft from a 3 syncro MGB  gearbox
in my Riley box,
or find a conversion bushing that has the OD of the MGB and the ID of the
MGA/Riley.
The MGB rear plate works with the Riley gearbox and starter position.
The Riley motor mounts bolt right on the MGB front plate.
I had to use the MGA/Riley water pump to get enough radiator clearance.
I have to use the Riley exhaust manifold because of the way the exhaust pipes
are
routed through the frame.
