Oh, yeah, that's probably true (not too familiar with Z-S carbs, but I know
the Carter on my Plymouth works that way), but what it sounded like he was
talking about was a partial pump to squirt some fuel into the carb body
(something I might also do on my Plymouth), which wouldn't work. Probably
what he was really doing was setting the choke, as you point out.
