You have to wonder about the English mentality after WW2. There's the MG -
a sporty low cost vehicle aimed at fun. But they gradually let the marque
go sour while unions striked on every little matter and management put
fingers up lowest orifice and minds in neutral. Along comes the Miata to
show how right Kimble was and BL (or who-ever!) responds with not an MG
but a bloody expensive leather bound, electric twitted, air-conditioned,
all the gizmoes, "look-I'm-the-same" vehicle. I would dearly love to buy a
small two seater with no electric this and that, no leather, no power
steering (it used to fine without power in TDs, TFs and MGBs) No power
brakes, no space age materials, no fancy engine management, no computers,
no ashtay, no clock, no pop-up this and pop-up that, no ABS, No EFI, no
VTEC, no FFT, no WHAT, no YFOR, no MYGOD - and at a low price and all the
charisma of an MG
