My humble experience with sloppy MGB 'boxes isn't long throws so much
as sloppy detents. And it was only on well-worn 4 synchro 'boxes.
The OD and non-OD 3-synchro 'boxes I have owned all "snicked" smartly
into gear in a very nice, tight pattern.
